How Can I Lose Weight?

"How can I lose weight?" is a common question. The fact that you are asking that questions proves that weight loss is possible for you. The following information is designed to not only help you shed extra weight, but to also keep it off for good...so let's get started.
Your attitude while trying to lose weight is important. If you keep telling yourself that you "hate dieting and exercising" then there is no way you will stick with it. On the other hand, if you picture yourself enjoying a vibrant and healthy new lifestyle, where you can get the most out of life and look great doing it, then you are headed for weight loss success.
When it comes right down to it, there is only one way to lose weight, and that is to take in fewer calories than your body burns. Notice that there are two parts of that equation: how much you take in, and how much you burn. And therein lies the answer to the question of "how can I lose weight?"
Obviously, you take in calories by eating. The foods you eat and how you eat them will determine your total caloric intake. Whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, lean sources of protein are all good choices.
What you want to avoid are empty calories; that is foods that have calories but no nutritional value.
Keeping this rule in mind you would skip a sip of soda in favor of a fruit smoothie. (For the record, sugar does not count as a nutrient.)
Exercise burns calories and will help you to lose weight.  A lot of people don't exercise because it sounds like too much work. Well, it is called “work”ing out, not “play”ing out.
So, it is work and it isn’t easy, but neither is (fill in the blank with all of the crazy stuff you make yourself do for your spouse, your kids, your boss, your parents, etc. etc. etc.)
Make yourself do some “work” for yourself, for a change.
So go ahead, get to work, have fun and just get moving!
There you have the basic answer to "How can I lose weight?" We have covered the basics and now it's up to you to take action. Even the smallest step in the right direction will get you closer to your goal.
